Convert a MetaMask export to the Koinly format

working converter
🔒 Files stay in your browser — nothing is uploaded

MetaMask doesn’t export a CSV natively — its docs point you to a block explorer. This takes the explorer CSV for your MetaMask address (the Etherscan-family export: transaction list, internal transactions, or ERC-20 token transfers) and rewrites it into Koinly’s universal template. In-browser; nothing uploads.

or click to browse — conversion to Koinly CSV template runs locally in your browser
How to get the file: Etherscan (or BscScan/PolygonScan) → your MetaMask address → "Download CSV Export". For token transfers, keep your 0x… address in the file name.

How it works

  1. Export the file from your exchange or tool (Etherscan (or BscScan/PolygonScan) → your MetaMask address → "Download CSV Export". For token transfers, keep your 0x… address in the file name.).
  2. Drop it above — the parser identifies the format and shows every transaction.
  3. Check the preview and notes, then download the Koinly CSV template file.
  4. Import it into your tax software and verify the totals.

FAQ

How do I get a CSV for my MetaMask wallet?

Open your address on Etherscan (or BscScan/PolygonScan for other networks) and use the "Download CSV Export" link — MetaMask itself has no CSV export. The transaction list, internal-tx list, and token-transfer exports are all parsed.

Token transfers: how does it know in vs out?

The token/NFT exports don’t mark direction — the file name must contain your wallet address (e.g. "token-transfers_0xAbC…csv") for the parser to type deposits vs withdrawals. Without it, rows are kept and flagged for review instead of guessed.

Will gas fees carry over?

Yes — the TxnFee column maps to Koinly’s fee fields, and failed transactions convert as fee-only spends.

What about DeFi swaps?

Each transaction becomes a row with its method label. Complex multi-hop DeFi may need relabeling inside Koinly after import.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No — parsing, conversion, and the download all run in this tab with JavaScript. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

What are the free limits?

The preview shows every parsed row. Downloads are complete for files up to 100 transactions; larger files download the first 25 rows. A paid pack removes the cap.
