Convert an exchange CSV to an HMRC SA108 worksheet
working converterHMRC’s SA108 capital-gains pages want disposals listed with sterling values and dates — your exchange CSV has neither the layout nor necessarily GBP amounts. This reshapes exchange CSVs into an SA108-style CGT computation worksheet (.xlsx): each crypto disposal with dates, proceeds, and allowable costs, plus a notes column flagging what your export didn’t state. In-browser; nothing uploads.
How it works
- Export the file from your exchange or tool.
- Drop it above — the parser identifies the format and shows every transaction.
- Check the preview and notes, then download the HMRC SA108 / CGT record file.
- Import it into your tax software and verify the totals.
FAQ
Does it convert amounts to GBP?
No — the worksheet carries the fiat values your export states and labels the currency explicitly. Converting proceeds to sterling is a valuation step, not a format step; that stays with you or your accountant.
What about share pooling / matching rules?
HMRC’s pooling and bed-and-breakfast rules are tax computation — the worksheet organizes disposals into a CGT record; it does not apply the matching rules.
When is the SA108 due?
With the online Self Assessment return — 31 January. The worksheet gives you or your accountant clean input ahead of the deadline.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No — parsing, conversion, and the download all run in this tab with JavaScript. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
What are the free limits?
The preview shows every parsed row. Downloads are complete for files up to 100 transactions; larger files download the first 25 rows. A paid pack removes the cap.
